Promote and Integrate

Day 10/10 – Promote and Integrate

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” – Luke 4: 18 – 19

This is the last day of our reflection and sharing!

We hope that the last nine days has allowed you to take a journey to the heart and find healing.

“It’s not just about migrants, it’s about us!”

How comforting is the words of the Holy Father. That it is not just about providing for the needs of the migrants in our midst but it is to look within ourselves and change our ways.

Migrants are God’s instruments in allowing to see a parts of ourselves that we have somehow lost or have been misguided.

We are not helpless in this situation. Even in our brokenness, we are anointed and chosen to make the change in the lives of the people around us and the migrants.

Let us respond then with an open heart and with our gifts and talents ready to give and serve.

It is possible, yes! To build a world that is based on the culture of encountering the other person. A world that is built on justice and love.

  1. When was the last time I gave an affirming word or gesture to a migrant or vulnerable person
  2. What can I do to bring Good News to the poor, sight to the blind, freedom to captives?
  3. How can I be a catalyst to change the perception of our society on migrants and the poor?

O God, in Your love, You have given each of us gifts and talents to serve the common good and promote integral human development.

Help us to use these gifts generously and lovingly, for we are Your children.

Free us from the desire to serve only our own interests, and help us to grow in the spirit of love that makes us sisters and brothers.

Grant us our prayer that Your love and peace may reign now and forever. Amen.

Your reflection and sharing can be a source of healing and inspiration to others.

We will be compiling your responses and sharing it on our website and social media from 29 September 2019. Thank you for your sharing!
